Sometimes you might not have time to deep clean the house but need to quickly clear clutter and dust. Here are some simple tips on how to clean each room in 10 minutes so you don’t have to take too much time out of your busy life.
Clean Bedrooms in 10 Minutes
Bedrooms often get more cluttered than dirty. Piles of clothes build up and things don’t get put away. Go through the room and collect everything that is out of place. Throw dirty clothes in the laundry and put books back on the bookshelf. Look for trash, including under the bed, and throw it away. Remove your sheets and replace them with fresh linens. Dust the room from top to bottom, starting with the light fixture or ceiling fan. Finish by vacuuming the floors.
Gather dirty towels and run them through the wash. Next, clean the bathroom surfaces: counter, sink, tub, and toilet. Spray the mirror with glass cleaner and wipe it dry. Take out the trash and wipe out the inside of the wastebasket. Open the vanity cabinets and take everything out of them. Wipe out the cabinets and look for signs of plumbing leaks. Get rid of any empty containers and put everything else back. Mop the floor of the bathroom at the end.
Clean the Kitchen in 10 Minutes
Clean out the inside of the refrigerator. Get rid of all food that has expired or gone bad, then take out the trash. Wipe the tops of the cabinets, countertops, and appliances. Look for food spills on the fronts of lower cabinets and clean them up. Lastly, vacuum and mop the kitchen floor.
Cleaning the living room mainly requires a lot of dusting. Dust from top to bottom with a damp microfiber cloth. A feather duster only spreads dust around. Don’t forget the tops of picture frames hanging on the walls. If you have upholstered furniture, use a special upholstery vacuum attachment to remove dust and pet hair. Vacuum the floor, paying special attention to the rugs.
To deep clean the washer, run a cup of vinegar through a cycle. Clean the dryer vent by removing the duct and vacuuming out the vent with the hose attachment. Finish up by wiping down the exterior of the machines and mopping the floor.
